Visitor Guidance

Visitor Guidance

Welcome to Debre Brhan St. Immanuel Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido Church of Utah! We are delighted to have you join us for worship and fellowship. To ensure that your visit is comfortable and enriching, we kindly provide the following guidance:

  1. Arrival and Parking: Upon arrival, please find parking in the designated areas around the church premises. Our greeters will be available to assist you with any questions and guide you to the entrance.
  2. Dress Code: We encourage attire that reflects reverence for the sacredness of our worship space. Modest and respectful clothing is appreciated.
  3. Entering the Sanctuary: As you enter the sanctuary, please take a moment to prepare your heart and mind for worship. Our ushers will be available to assist you in finding seating and answer any questions you may have.
  4. Cellphone Usage: In reverence for the sanctity of our worship space, we kindly request that cellphones be silenced or turned off during the service. This allows for an atmosphere of prayerful reflection and concentration.
  5. Children in Worship: Children are a cherished part of our community. We encourage families to worship together. If needed, please go to the back seats if you have infants or young children.
  6. Understanding that in the Ethiopian Orthodox faith:  liturgy is viewed as a Heavenly mystery where we all partake of Holy Communion, requiring solemnity and reverence, we emphasize the importance of children's behavior in the mass program, encouraging them to maintain quietude and attentiveness. In line with our commitment to fostering an atmosphere of reverence and attentiveness during worship, we ask that children refrain from using cellphones while in the church. Instead, we welcome them to bring books for quiet reading if they wish to engage in personal study. Trust the Lord kids will learn fast. Thank you for your cooperation and support in creating a welcoming and spiritually enriching environment for our children. Together, let us continue to nurture their love for God and His Word.
  7. Participation in Worship: All are welcome to participate in our worship services. Whether through prayer      in the liturgy, singing, or listening to the Word, we invite you to engage with an open heart and mind.
  8. Sunday school and Educational Opportunities: We offer Sunday school and educational programs for children. Please inquire with our staff or volunteers for more information on how to get involved.
  9. Fellowship and Refreshments: Following the service, we invite you to join us for fellowship and refreshments. This is an opportunity to connect with members of our congregation and      learn more about our community.
  10. Feedback and Questions: Your feedback is valuable to us. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please feel free to speak with one of our church leaders or fill out a feedback form available at the welcome desk.

Thank you for choosing to worship with us at Debre Brhan St. Immanuel Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido Church of Utah. May your time with us be blessed and spiritually enriching.

Calling All Volunteers!

Dear Members and Friends of St. Immanuel church

As a community, we are immensely grateful for the dedication and commitment of each of our members. However, as we navigate the journey of faith together, we recognize the importance of collective participation in the life of our church.

With a limited number of members, we understand that the success and vibrancy of our church community depend on the active involvement of all who call this place their spiritual home. Therefore, we warmly invite and encourage each one of you to consider volunteering your time, talents, and resources to support the various activities and ministries of our church.

Whether it's helping with Sunday school, assisting during worship services, organizing community events, or lending a hand with maintenance tasks, there are countless ways to contribute and make a meaningful impact. Your involvement not only strengthens our church family but also enriches your own spiritual journey and sense of belonging.

Remember, no act of service is too small. Every effort, no matter how humble, is valued and appreciated. Together, we can create a thriving and supportive community where everyone feels welcome and valued.

If you are interested in volunteering or would like to learn more about available opportunities, please don't hesitate to reach out to Girmay Tadesse. Your willingness to serve is a blessing to our church, and we look forward to working together to fulfill our shared mission and vision.

Thank you for your continued support and dedication to the Debre Brhan St. Immanuel Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido Church of Utah. Let us join hands and hearts as we serve God and one another with joy and enthusiasm.

Blessings,

The church board and members.
